Abstract
This article is devoted to show the importance of industrial progress as a technical factor, connected to design of sports shoe. For this purpose, from the historical point of view, in the research are consider the problems around the development of rubber industry at the end of 19th- early 20th centuries and its influence on shaping the modern image of sports shoe. The conducted research allows claiming that the development of technological processes transforms not only image, character and the ways of product design, but also enhances the quality of everyday life globally.
