THE STAGES OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF ST. PETERSBURG ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCHES IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE XVIII CENTURY

Abstract
On the basis of the analysis of the archival and published sources, as well as domestic and foreign works, the stages of the construction of Roman Catholic churches of St. Petersburg in the first half of the 18th century are examined in the article, expanding the understanding of the history of this issue. From the orders of the Russian government and the interest of the Catholic community shown in the construction of new churches the conclusion of their strong influence upon the work progress is being made in the article.
