Abstract
The article considers the film V.R. Gardin «the Poet and the Tsar» (1927) in the context of the time and the Soviet art of this period. Mentioned films: «Love Threesome», «Decembrists». Play M.A. Bulgakov's «the Last days» (Pushkin). The article is based on the data of the Soviet press, 1920, memoirs and archival sources.
