LAND CREDIT (HYPOTHEK) IN RUSSIA IN THE END OF XIX – BEGINNING OF XX CENTURIES

Abstract
The article considers the foundation of quite effective system of hypothec crediting in Russia in the end of XIX – beginning of XX centuries. In the so called land banks everyone who possessed immovable property, could get big loans for long terms without excessive formalities. Either noblemen or peasants became borrowers of these banks. Every land bank was assigned for certain territory so that competition among them was excluded. Alongside with private credit organizations, the government also established state banks for nobility and peasantry – The Nobility bank, The Peasants’ bank.
