FACTUALITY OF HISTORIC TEXT: THE BASE OF LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS

Abstract
The article deals with a conceptual framework of texts linguistic description. Conventional distinctions between factual and literary texts are examined and the correlation of truth and fiction in these textual types is established. Particular qualities of historic narrative are described. The part of fiction in a historic text is explored, with a focus on a status of History which is the narrative way of knowing the past. Some examples of how linguistics could adapt literary categories for studying of factual texts are given. A basis for methodology of historic texts’ linguistics is suggested.
